Jenny Brownrigg is Exhibitions Director at The Glasgow School of Art. From 2002-9 she was curator at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee. Other previous posts have included; Project Officer at Grizedale Arts, Cumbria (2000-2); and Gallery Co-ordinator at Changing Room Gallery, Stirling, Scotland (1998-9). She graduated with BA (hons) Fine Art from Glasgow School of Art (1990-4) and MFA at DJCAD (1996).
In 1998 Jenny did the Pier Arts Centre Fellowship on Orkney. In 1999 Jenny was writer in residence at Grizedale Arts, resulting in the publication Nature Centre . In 2001 she published Romantic Vanguard, the conclusion of her residency with Molendinar Community Council as part of the Royston Road Project, commissioned by The Centre Romantic Vanguard aims to seek out romance and to trace the spirit of romanticism in the urban environment of Blackhill and Provanmill.
She was co-curator of The Young Artists’ Biennial Absent Without Leave (AWOL) , 2nd Edition, Bucharest, Romania, Oct 14 – Nov 16 2006. In 2009 at Duncan of Jordanstone, she devised The Nine Trades of Dundee with Laura Simpson.
